SARANEX Barrier Films
|
SARANEX™ barrier films are coextruded multilayered films containing a layer of SARAN™ resin integrally sandwiched between outer layers of polyolefins. This layered product is extruded as an integral film without orientation. It can be laminated to a variety of substrates, either rigid or flexible, including paper, foil, polyamide films and polyolefin films, oriented polypropylene film, high-impact polystyrene, polyvinyl chloride, and others.
The result of this combination is a product that gives you the proven barrier properties of SARAN resins plus the machinability, printability, and functionality of the polyolefin skins. In many applications, the use of SARANEX films can eliminate the need for additional materials resulting in significant cost savings.
SARANEX films offer a balance of barrier properties, toughness, chemical resistance, softness, flexibility, attractive appearance, and good economics in a single film structure. They are applicable for a vast array of uses including ostomy appliances, pharmaceutical blister packs, cap liners, bags, food packaging, and textile lamination for protective clothing.
- Barrier protection from gases, water vapor, and aromas.
- Barrier level remains unaffected by high humidity environments
- Chemical resistance from most acids, bases, foods, pharmaceuticals and alcohols
- Machinability traits desired by processors
- Laminating versatility
