Strengthening our offering for Window ProfilesLooking to strengthen your window profiles? Well, look no further. Dow's TYRIN™ Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) offering helps meet the high demands necessary for your construction of window profiles. Dow's portfolio includes two key resins: TYRIN 6000 CPE and TYRIN 7000 CPE. TYRIN CPE resins bring a long list of advantages to the creation of window profiles. TYRIN 6000 and 7000 CPE provide outstanding corner weld strength and high surface gloss. These resins offer high impact efficiency under a wide processing range and they also reduce waste generated during finishing operations, such as sawing, drilling and cutting, due to their excellent resistance against shattering and brittle breaks. Originally developed by The Dow Chemical Company, TYRIN Chlorinated Polyethylene (CPE) thermoplastic resins have come to be widely used as impact modifiers in PVC extrusion and injection molding applications. Especially effective in products such as window profiles, pipe, and siding, TYRIN 6000 CPE and TYRIN 7000 CPE perform well at low temperatures, giving very good weather resistance for all climate conditions. In fact, the resins can be blended with acrylics resulting in an optimum cost/performance solution. And that's not all. TYRIN CPE offers the possibility to reduce the overall color pigment costs on colored window profile applications. Due to its higher viscosity, TYRIN 7000 is a more efficient impact modifier and typically can be used at up to 10% lower addition levels. Furthermore, these resins work particularly well with calcium-zinc stabilization to control gelation levels and melt temperature. TYRIN 7000 is available in bulk, supplied by trucks and can be stored in silos. In sum, Dow's TYRIN CPE resins help fabricators and compounders meet increasingly critical performance requirements and cost-control needs. Window profiles manufactured with TYRIN impact modifiers can meet all requirements of the European standards. Please find below an overview of the common standards.
